We believe in the full, verbal inerrancy of Scripture, and are committed to biblical authority and sufficiency.
What we believe
Doctrinal Commitments
Our fellowship is grounded in historic, Protestant Christian doctrine and a shared confidence in the authority of God’s Word.
Expository Preaching
We are committed to the practice of teaching God’s Word by drawing out and expounding the meaning of the text according to its authorial intent. This will mean the regular practice of sequential exposition through books and sections of Scripture, exegeting the authorial intent, teaching the timeless meaning of the text, and applying the truth for today’s hearers.
Salvation
We believe in the sovereignty of God in the salvation of souls, and the necessity of both repentance and faith in Christ as both Lord and Savior for true saving faith.
Church Leadership
We believe the church should be governed by a plurality of qualified elders who bear the final responsibility for the decisions of the church. It is the responsibility of the local church to oversee the training of qualified men to continue and expand the local church.
Biblical Counseling
We believe that the Scriptures are sufficient for life and practice and that they are fully authoritative above and superior to all human wisdom or truth claims.
Spiritual Gifts
We fully believe and rejoice in God’s miraculous power, which He displays according to His divine pleasure. We believe that the spiritual gifts pertaining to the revealing of divine truth or miraculous signs were intentionally limited by the Holy Spirit to the foundational era of the church, and that these gifts (such as apostles, prophets, tongues, and healings) are no longer the way that the Holy Spirit works in the world today. We do not affirm the positions of charismaticism, continuationism, or the “open-but-cautious” view. We affirm the work of the Holy Spirit through the ongoing operation of spiritual gifts in the church today.
Eschatology
We believe in the premillennial return of Christ, after which He will reign for 1,000 years on the earth, and will fulfill the promises made to national Israel concerning their repentance and their restoration to the land of promise.
Baptism
We believe that the Scriptures instruct baptism to be performed for only those who believe in the gospel, upon their profession of faith in Christ.
Complementarianism
We believe that men and women are created with different roles within certain institutions, most particularly the family and the church, and that these roles are designed by God to complement one another.
Church Discipline
We believe that the Lord desires for his church to confront sin among his people with the goal of restoration, but with the consequences of church discipline and ultimately excommunication for those who do not repent of their sin.
Creation
We affirm a literal six-day creation according to the Old Testament record.
Our doctrine is not merely a boundary for fellowship; it is the good news we proclaim and the truth by which we live.
